Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In March 2014 Sothebys in New York held the auction Fine Classical Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy, which included the work Couplet In Clerical Script by Yao Yuanzhi. Here, the upper estimate of USD 8,000 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 8,125 (€ 5,898). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Yao Yuanzhi - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work , which sold at auction in April 2011 for HKD 225,000 (€ 19,553).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im März 2014 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Fine Classical Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy durch, in der auch die Arbeit Couplet In Clerical Script von Yao Yuanzhi zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 8.000 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 8.125 (€ 5.898) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Yao Yuanzhi mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit beobachtet, die im April 2011 für HKD 225.000 (€ 19.553) versteigert wurde.
