Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Yao Yuanzhi could be acquired at Christies in Hong Kong in June 2020 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Exquisite Eye: Chinese Paintings Online auction, the work Calligraphic Couplet in Clerical Script changed hands for HKD 17,500 (€ 2,010) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of HKD 20,000 – 30,000. Admittedly, works by Yao Yuanzhi have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work in April 2011 with an auction result of HKD 225,000 (€ 19,553).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Yao Yuanzhi konnte im Juni 2020 bei Christies in Hong Kong für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Exquisite Eye: Chinese Paintings Online wechselte die Arbeit Calligraphic Couplet in Clerical Script für HKD 17.500 (€ 2.010) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 20.000 – 30.000. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Yao Yuanzhi auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit im April 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 225.000 (€ 19.553).
