Sold at the lower estimate price
In September 2013 Sothebys in New York held the auction Fine Classical Chinese Paintings and Cal, which included the work Cat And Flowers by Yao Yuanzhi. The result of USD 5,000 (€ 3,694) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 5,000 - 7,000. Admittedly, works by Yao Yuanzhi have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work in April 2011 with an auction result of HKD 225,000 (€ 19,553).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im September 2013 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Fine Classical Chinese Paintings and Cal durch, in der auch die Arbeit Cat And Flowers von Yao Yuanzhi zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 5.000 (€ 3.694) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 5.000 – 7.000. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Yao Yuanzhi auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit im April 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 225.000 (€ 19.553).
