In April 2018 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Fine Classical Chinese Paintings, which included the work Poem In Cursive Script by Yan Shengsun. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 68,750.00 (€ 7,254.22), 38% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Yan Shengsun - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Phoenix, which sold at auction in May 2005 for HKD 156,000.00 (€ 16,245.53).

Im April 2018 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Fine Classical Chinese Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Poem In Cursive Script von Yan Shengsun zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 68.750,00 (€ 7.254,22) und damit 38% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Yan Shengsun mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Phoenix beobachtet, die im Mai 2005 für HKD 156.000,00 (€ 16.245,53) versteigert wurde.
