In March 2006 Christies in New York held the auction Japanese Art Including Property of The Metropolitan Museum of Art, which included the work The Actor Morita Kan'Ya Xiii In The Role of Jean Valjean, 1921 by Yamamura Koka. The »bidding war« ended at USD 5,040.00 (€ 4,151.91), 68% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Yamamura Koka - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Dancing at the New Carlton Hotel, Shanghai, which sold at auction in December 2021 for GBP 8,820.00 (€ 10,520.41).

Im März 2006 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Japanese Art Including Property of The Metropolitan Museum of Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Actor Morita Kan'Ya Xiii In The Role of Jean Valjean, 1921 von Yamamura Koka zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 5.040,00 (€ 4.151,91) und damit 68% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Yamamura Koka mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Dancing at the New Carlton Hotel, Shanghai beobachtet, die im Dezember 2021 für GBP 8.820,00 (€ 10.520,41) versteigert wurde.
