The work Dancing At The New Carlton Hotel In Shanghai, 1924 by Yamamura Koka was worth USD 6,600.00 (€ 5,437.02) to a buyer in March 2006. This price was achieved in the auction Japanese Art Including Property of The Metropolitan Museum of Art at Christies in New York and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of USD 2,000.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Yamamura Koka; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Dancing at the New Carlton Hotel, Shanghai sold at auction in December 2021 with the realized price of GBP 8,820.00 (€ 10,520.41).
