Taisho (1912-1926) or Showa (1926-1989) era, first half of the 20th century
A hanging scroll in ink, colors, and gold on silk depicting a pond filled with large lotus leaves and flowers, below the pond an egret, the lotus leaves and pond surfaces expressed using the tarashikomi pooled-wet-pigment method, the pond grasses, lotus stamens, and eye and feet of the egret depicted using shimmering gold pigment, scroll knobs made of carved lacquer with flowers and grasses motif; signed Kōka and with an unidentified seal
With unmarked wood tomobako storage box and cardboard sleeve
