Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2021 Bonhams in New York held the auction Fine Japanese and Korean Art, including the Crawford Collection of Surimono, which included the work Taisho (1912-1926) Era, 1920 by Yamamura Koka. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 1,000.00 – 1,500.00, the actual price achieved of USD 1,020.00 (€ 881.06) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Yamamura Koka achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Dancing at the New Carlton Hotel, Shanghai in December 2021 with an auction result of GBP 8,820.00 (€ 10,520.41).
