This artwork by Xue Song achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2021. In the Contemporary Art Day Sale auction, the work Deconstructing Calligraphy (Set of Nine Works) sold for HKD 882,000.00 (€ 98,110.28) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 500,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Xue Song; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Rivers and Mountains After Snow—A Tribute to Wang Wei sold at auction in September this year with the realized price of CNY 1,260,000.00 (€ 163,095.24).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Xue Song erzielte im Oktober 2021 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Contemporary Art Day Sale wurde die Arbeit Deconstructing Calligraphy (Set of Nine Works) für HKD 882.000,00 (€ 98.110,28) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 500.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Xue Song; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Rivers and Mountains After Snow—A Tribute to Wang Wei im September diesen Jahres mit dem Hammerpreis von CNY 1.260.000,00 (€ 163.095,24).
