In March 2007 Sothebys in New York held the auction Contemporary Art Asia, which included the work Youth by Xin Haizhou. The »bidding war« ended at USD 54,000.00 (€ 40,376.85), 54% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Xin Haizhou - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Rule of the Game No. 2, which sold at auction in May 2016 for HKD 775,000.00 (€ 89,575.66).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 54 % übertroffen
Im März 2007 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Contemporary Art Asia durch, in der auch die Arbeit Youth von Xin Haizhou zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 54.000,00 (€ 40.376,85) und damit 54% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Xin Haizhou mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Rule of the Game No. 2 beobachtet, die im Mai 2016 für HKD 775.000,00 (€ 89.575,66) versteigert wurde.
