This artwork by Xin Haizhou achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in March 2008. In the Contemporary Art Asia auction, the work Day Dream sold for USD 40,000.00 (€ 25,308.45) - well above the upper estimate of USD 20,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Xin Haizhou - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Rule of the Game No. 2, which sold at auction in May 2016 for HKD 775,000.00 (€ 89,575.66).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 100 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Xin Haizhou erzielte im März 2008 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Contemporary Art Asia wurde die Arbeit Day Dream für USD 40.000,00 (€ 25.308,45) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 20.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Xin Haizhou mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Rule of the Game No. 2 beobachtet, die im Mai 2016 für HKD 775.000,00 (€ 89.575,66) versteigert wurde.
