This artwork by Xie Shichen achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2016. In the Fine Chinese Classical Paintings & Calligraphy auction, the work Visiting Friend at Night sold for HKD 175,000.00 (€ 20,226.76) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 80,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Xie Shichen achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Scholarly Gathering till Twilight in May last year with an auction result of HKD 10,050,000.00 (€ 1,193,150.68).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Xie Shichen erzielte im Mai 2016 bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Chinese Classical Paintings & Calligraphy wurde die Arbeit Visiting Friend at Night für HKD 175.000,00 (€ 20.226,76) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 80.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Xie Shichen erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Scholarly Gathering till Twilight im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 10.050.000,00 (€ 1.193.150,68).
