Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Gift by Xie Qi was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in March 2007, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 5,000.00 – 6,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 3,000.00 (€ 2,243.16). Other works by Xie Qi have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in June 2008 by the work His Pride - Her Victory at EUR 3,750.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Gift von Xie Qi im März 2007 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 5.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 3.000,00 (€ 2.243,16) den Besitzer. Andere Arbeiten von Xie Qi wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im Juni 2008 die Arbeit His Pride - Her Victory mit EUR 3.750,00.
