This price was achieved in the auction Fine Chinese Modern and Contemporary Ink Paintings at Christies in Hong Kong and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of HKD 150,000.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Xiao Xun; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Landscape Album sold at auction in October 2016 with the realized price of HKD 649,000.00 (€ 76,373.84).
