In May 2011 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Asian Contemporary Art (Day Sale), which included the work Intellectual Youth No. 14 by Xiao Hong. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 162,500.00 (€ 14,536.38), 35% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Xiao Hong - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Series Of Intelligent Youths 2007 No. 1, which sold at auction in March 2008 for USD 67,000.00 (€ 42,391.65).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 35 % übertroffen
Im Mai 2011 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Asian Contemporary Art (Day Sale) durch, in der auch die Arbeit Intellectual Youth No. 14 von Xiao Hong zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 162.500,00 (€ 14.536,38) und damit 35% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Xiao Hong mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Series Of Intelligent Youths 2007 No. 1 beobachtet, die im März 2008 für USD 67.000,00 (€ 42.391,65) versteigert wurde.
