The work Reverie by Xiang Shengmo was worth HKD 3,400,000.00 (€ 322,357.78) to a buyer in November 2013. This price was achieved in the auction Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy at Christies in Hong Kong and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of HKD 150,000.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Xiang Shengmo; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Dreamin Of The Peach Pavillion sold at auction in April 2014 with the realized price of HKD 5,750,000.00 (€ 534,787.31).
