Spurious inscription and signature of the artist, dated wuchen year (1628) and xinchou year (1651)
A colophon in small standard script follows the painting and it bears the signature of Xiang Shengmo, dated second year of the Chongzhen era (1629)
Seventeen seals
A spurious colophon by Emperor Qianlong (1771-1799, reigned 1736-1796) Thirty-nine collectors' seals, including three of An Qi (1683-1742) and sixteen of Emperor Qianlong

Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Landscape with Pine Trees by Xiang Shengmo was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in December 2008. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 200,000.00 – 300,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 225,000.00 (€ 20,852.79) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Xiang Shengmo achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Dreamin Of The Peach Pavillion in April 2014 with an auction result of HKD 5,750,000.00 (€ 534,787.31).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Landscape with Pine Trees von Xiang Shengmo kam im Dezember 2008 bei Christies in Hong Kong zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 200.000,00 – 300.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 225.000,00 (€ 20.852,79) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Xiang Shengmo erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Dreamin Of The Peach Pavillion im April 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 5.750.000,00 (€ 534.787,31).
