Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
The work Autumn Drifting by Xiang Shengmo was worth HKD 1,700,000.00 (€ 156,994.34) to a buyer in October 2011. This price was achieved in the auction Fine Chinese Paintings at Sothebys in Hong Kong and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of HKD 500,000.00 many times over. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Xiang Shengmo - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Dreamin Of The Peach Pavillion, which sold at auction in April 2014 for HKD 5,750,000.00 (€ 534,787.31).

Die Arbeit Autumn Drifting von Xiang Shengmo war einem Käufer im Oktober 2011 HKD 1.700.000,00 (€ 156.994,34) wert. Dieser Preise wurde in der Auktion Fine Chinese Paintings bei Sothebys in Hong Kong erzielt und übertraf den zuvor angesetzten oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 500.000,00 um ein Vielfaches. Für andere Arbeiten von Xiang Shengmo mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Dreamin Of The Peach Pavillion beobachtet, die im April 2014 für HKD 5.750.000,00 (€ 534.787,31) versteigert wurde.
