This artwork by Xia Jingguan achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in December 2015. In the Fine Chinese Modern Paintings auction, the work Pavilion Among Clouds sold for HKD 35,000.00 (€ 4,157.84) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 20,000.00. Admittedly, works by Xia Jingguan have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Waterfall In The Ravine in April 2012 with an auction result of HKD 175,000.00 (€ 17,051.55).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 75 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Xia Jingguan erzielte im Dezember 2015 bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Chinese Modern Paintings wurde die Arbeit Pavilion Among Clouds für HKD 35.000,00 (€ 4.157,84) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 20.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Xia Jingguan auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Waterfall In The Ravine im April 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 175.000,00 (€ 17.051,55).
