Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2017 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Fine Chinese Paintings, which included the work Calligraphy Couplet In Xingshu by Xia Jingguan. The price achieved of HKD 62,500.00 (€ 6,878.86) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 50,000.00 – 70,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Xia Jingguan - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Waterfall In The Ravine, which sold at auction in April 2012 for HKD 175,000.00 (€ 17,051.55).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2017 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Fine Chinese Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Calligraphy Couplet In Xingshu von Xia Jingguan zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 62.500,00 (€ 6.878,86) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 50.000,00 – 70.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Xia Jingguan mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Waterfall In The Ravine beobachtet, die im April 2012 für HKD 175.000,00 (€ 17.051,55) versteigert wurde.
