Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Index Four, Composition Two by Xaviera Simmons was sold in the Contemporary Photographs auction at Sothebys in New York in October 2020. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 15,000.00 – 25,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 15,120.00 (€ 12,981.88) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by Xaviera Simmons have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in May 2018 the work A Country Built On Free Labor was auctioned for USD 20,000.00 (€ 17,137.96).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Index Four, Composition Two von Xaviera Simmons wurde im Oktober 2020 in der Auktion Contemporary Photographs bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 15.000,00 – 25.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 15.120,00 (€ 12.981,88) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
