This artwork by Xavier Bueno achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in February 2009. In the Impressionist and Modern Art auction, the work Yound Child sold for USD 20,000.00 (€ 15,795.29) - well above the upper estimate of USD 7,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Xavier Bueno - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Self-Portrait Of The Artist At His Easel, Half-Length, Aged 32, which sold at auction in June 2020 for GBP 50,000.00 (€ 55,066.33).
