The work Mountain and river, Blackmount by Wycliffe Egginton was sold in the British and Victorian including Scottish Paintings auction at Christies in London in March 2004. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 776.75 (€ 1,162.72), 55% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Wycliffe Egginton - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Homeward Bound, which sold at auction in May 2008 for GBP 3,000.00 (€ 3,816.13).

Die Arbeit Mountain and river, Blackmount von Wycliffe Egginton wurde im März 2004 in der Auktion British and Victorian including Scottish Paintings bei Christies in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 776,75 (€ 1.162,72) und damit 55% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Wycliffe Egginton mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Homeward Bound beobachtet, die im Mai 2008 für GBP 3.000,00 (€ 3.816,13) versteigert wurde.
