This artwork by Wycliffe Egginton achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in July 2004. In the British and Continental Watercolours including Original auction, the work Beauly River; and View from Beaufort Castle (illustrated) sold for GBP 1,135.25 (€ 1,715.61) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 600.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Wycliffe Egginton - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Homeward Bound, which sold at auction in May 2008 for GBP 3,000.00 (€ 3,816.13).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Wycliffe Egginton erzielte im Juli 2004 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion British and Continental Watercolours including Original wurde die Arbeit Beauly River; and View from Beaufort Castle (illustrated) für GBP 1.135,25 (€ 1.715,61) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 600,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Wycliffe Egginton mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Homeward Bound beobachtet, die im Mai 2008 für GBP 3.000,00 (€ 3.816,13) versteigert wurde.
