The work Five-Character Calligraphy Couplet in Clerical Script by Wu Xizai was sold in the Exquisite Eye: Chinese Paintings Online auction at Christies in Hong Kong in November 2017. It achieved a price of HKD 22,500.00 (€ 2,422.47), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 50%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Wu Xizai achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Calligraphy In Seal Script in October 2014 with an auction result of HKD 3,776,000.00 (€ 388,750.20).

Die Arbeit Five-Character Calligraphy Couplet in Clerical Script von Wu Xizai wurde im November 2017 in der Auktion Exquisite Eye: Chinese Paintings Online bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von HKD 22.500,00 (€ 2.422,47) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 50%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Wu Xizai erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Calligraphy In Seal Script im Oktober 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 3.776.000,00 (€ 388.750,20).
