In May 2013 POLY in Hong Kong held the auction Delightful Harmony - Fine Modern and Classical Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy, which included the work Landscape by Wu Shantao. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 86,250.00 (€ 8,553.28), 73% above the estimate. Admittedly, works by Wu Shantao have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Five-Character Couplet In Running Script in October 2015 with an auction result of HKD 377,600.00 (€ 44,113.75).
Schätzpreis um 73 % übertroffen
Im Mai 2013 führte POLY in Hong Kong die Auktion Delightful Harmony - Fine Modern and Classical Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy durch, in der auch die Arbeit Landscape von Wu Shantao zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 86.250,00 (€ 8.553,28) und damit 73% über dem Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Wu Shantao auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Five-Character Couplet In Running Script im Oktober 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 377.600,00 (€ 44.113,75).
