Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Scholar Under Pine Tree by Wu Guandai was sold in the The Beauty of Brushes - A Selection of Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy 2 auction at POLY in Hong Kong in May 2016. The price achieved of HKD 7,080.00 (€ 818.32) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Wu Guandai achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Flowers and Rubbings in May 2014 with an auction result of HKD 687,500.00 (€ 65,020.16).

Die Arbeit Scholar Under Pine Tree von Wu Guandai wurde im Mai 2016 in der Auktion The Beauty of Brushes - A Selection of Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy 2 bei POLY in Hong Kong versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 7.080,00 (€ 818,32) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Wu Guandai erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Flowers and Rubbings im Mai 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 687.500,00 (€ 65.020,16).
