This price was achieved in the auction Fine Classical Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy at Sothebys in New York and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of USD 5,000.00 many times over. Admittedly, works by Wu Guandai have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Flowers and Rubbings in May 2014 with an auction result of HKD 687,500.00 (€ 65,020.16).

Die Arbeit Plum Blossoms von Wu Guandai war einem Käufer im März 2018 USD 20.000,00 (€ 16.233,77) wert. Dieser Preise wurde in der Auktion Fine Classical Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy bei Sothebys in New York erzielt und übertraf den zuvor angesetzten oberen Schätzpreis von USD 5.000,00 um ein Vielfaches. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Wu Guandai auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Flowers and Rubbings im Mai 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 687.500,00 (€ 65.020,16).
