This artwork by Wu Guandai achieved an unexpectedly high price at POLY in Hong Kong in May 2015. In the Delightful Pleasure-Chinese Painting and Calligraphy auction, the work Old Man Under The Tree sold for HKD 53,100.00 (€ 6,230.58) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 30,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Wu Guandai achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Flowers and Rubbings in May 2014 with an auction result of HKD 687,500.00 (€ 65,020.16).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Wu Guandai erzielte im Mai 2015 bei POLY in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Delightful Pleasure-Chinese Painting and Calligraphy wurde die Arbeit Old Man Under The Tree für HKD 53.100,00 (€ 6.230,58) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 30.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Wu Guandai erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Flowers and Rubbings im Mai 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 687.500,00 (€ 65.020,16).
