Auction result misses estimated price range
In September 2010 a collector was able to acquire the work Drawing hour, 2007 by Wonsook Kim for USD 3,500.00 (€ 2,573.34). This price was achieved in the auction Japanese & Korean Art Including Arts of the Meiji Period at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 4,000.00 – 5,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Wonsook Kim - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work By the shore, 1992, which sold at auction in March 2008 for USD 15,000.00 (€ 9,490.67).
