Auction result misses estimated price range
In November 2003 a collector was able to acquire the work Daisies, tulips, carnations, roses and other summer blooms in a vase by Winifred Walker for GBP 235.00 (€ 337.35). This price was achieved in the auction At Home-British and Continental Pictures and Works on Paper at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 300.00 – 500.00 set by the auction house. Other works by Winifred Walker have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in March 2004 by the work Carnations, roses, daisies, tulips and other summer flowers in a vase on a ledge at GBP 298.75 (€ 447.20).
