Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Willys de Castro could be acquired at Phillips in New York in November 2013 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Latin America auction, the work Objeto Ativo changed hands for USD 62,500.00 (€ 45,935.62) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 70,000.00 – 90,000.00. Admittedly, works by Willys de Castro have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Objeto Ativo: Duo in November 2014 with an auction result of USD 359,000.00 (€ 288,631.61).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Willys de Castro konnte im November 2013 bei Phillips in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Latin America wechselte die Arbeit Objeto Ativo für USD 62.500,00 (€ 45.935,62) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 70.000,00 – 90.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Willys de Castro auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Objeto Ativo: Duo im November 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 359.000,00 (€ 288.631,61).
