Auction result misses estimated price range
In October 2008 a collector was able to acquire the work Le 14 Juillet À Belleville by Willy James for USD 8,750.00 (€ 6,899.54). This price was achieved in the auction Impressionist and Modern Art including Latin American and Russian Art at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Willy James - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work L'Étang Gelé Aux Patineurs, which sold at auction in April 2008 for GBP 11,250.00 (€ 14,342.16).
