Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Paris, rue animée sous la neige by Willy James was sold in the Impressionist & Modern Art auction at Christies in London in December 2008. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 3,125.00 (€ 3,282.16) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Willy James have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work L'Étang Gelé Aux Patineurs in April 2008 with an auction result of GBP 11,250.00 (€ 14,342.16).

Die Arbeit Paris, rue animée sous la neige von Willy James wurde im Dezember 2008 in der Auktion Impressionist & Modern Art bei Christies in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 3.125,00 (€ 3.282,16) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Willy James auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit L'Étang Gelé Aux Patineurs im April 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 11.250,00 (€ 14.342,16).
