Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Cumbuskenneth Abbey by William Yorke MacGregor was auctioned at Christies in London in March 2002. It changed hands for a price of GBP 1,762.50 (€ 2,881.22) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 1,200.00 – 1,800.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by William Yorke MacGregor - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Sands of Morar, which sold at auction in October 2006 for GBP 5,040.00 (€ 7,530.21).

Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 1.762,50 (€ 2.881,22) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.200,00 – 1.800,00. Für andere Arbeiten von William Yorke MacGregor mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Sands of Morar beobachtet, die im Oktober 2006 für GBP 5.040,00 (€ 7.530,21) versteigert wurde.
