Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Mount Williamson by William Wendt was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in May last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 60,000.00 – 80,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 63,000.00 (€ 58,708.41) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by William Wendt have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Silence Of Night in June 2016 with an auction result of USD 286,000.00 (€ 259,245.83).
