Auction result well in line with expectations
In August this year Bonhams in Los Angeles held the auction California Art, which included the work Showery Day by William Wendt. It changed hands for a price of USD 57,600.00 (€ 53,141.43) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Admittedly, works by William Wendt have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Silence Of Night in June 2016 with an auction result of USD 286,000.00 (€ 259,245.83).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im August diesen Jahres führte Bonhams in Los Angeles die Auktion California Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Showery Day von William Wendt zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 57.600,00 (€ 53.141,43) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von William Wendt auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Silence Of Night im Juni 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 286.000,00 (€ 259.245,83).
