This artwork by William Armstrong achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in September 2006. In the Exploration and Travel with the Polar Sale Including The Amundsen Collection auction, the work Indian camp with two wigwams (Northern Ontario) sold for GBP 2,640.00 (€ 3,894.56) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,000.00. Admittedly, works by William Armstrong have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work On the Kaministiquoia River, Lake Superior in September 2010 with an auction result of GBP 22,500.00 (€ 26,023.64).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von William Armstrong erzielte im September 2006 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Exploration and Travel with the Polar Sale Including The Amundsen Collection wurde die Arbeit Indian camp with two wigwams (Northern Ontario) für GBP 2.640,00 (€ 3.894,56) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 1.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von William Armstrong auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit On the Kaministiquoia River, Lake Superior im September 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 22.500,00 (€ 26.023,64).
