Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Radish Girl by William Tylee Ranney was auctioned at Christies in New York in May 2019, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 50,000.00 – 70,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 43,750.00 (€ 39,241.19). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Tylee Ranney achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Lazy Fisherman in December 2008 with an auction result of USD 662,500.00 (€ 475,968.10).
