In July 2012 Christies in London held the auction Andrew Wyld: Connoisseur Dealer, which included the work The Highlanders' Burying Ground, on a small Island in Loch Maree, North Britain - Moonlight Evening by William Turner of Oxford. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 16,250.00 (€ 20,698.13), 35% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by William Turner of Oxford - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work An April shower, which sold at auction in November 2003 for GBP 31,070.00 (€ 44,601.44).
