A top price for William Turner of Oxford - as previously expected
In November 2003 Christies in London held the auction British Art on Paper, which included the work An April shower by William Turner of Oxford. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 30,000.00 – 50,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 31,070.00 (€ 44,601.44) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Even if this result could not surprise positively, An April shower is the most expensive artwork by William Turner of Oxford that we have observed at auctions so far.
