Auction result well in line with expectations
In July this year Christies in Paris held the auction Remastered: Old Masters from the Collection of J.E. Safra - Selling Without Reserve, which included the work A heathy scene near Sligachan, Isle of Skye, the Mountains Blaven, Marscodh, Scuir-nan-Stree, and the Cuchullin Hills in the distance - Drovers proceeding South by William Turner of Oxford. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 15,000.00 – 25,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 16,380.00 (€ 19,110.50) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by William Turner of Oxford - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work An April shower, which sold at auction in November 2003 for GBP 31,070.00 (€ 44,601.44).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli diesen Jahres führte Christies in Paris die Auktion Remastered: Old Masters from the Collection of J.E. Safra - Selling Without Reserve durch, in der auch die Arbeit A heathy scene near Sligachan, Isle of Skye, the Mountains Blaven, Marscodh, Scuir-nan-Stree, and the Cuchullin Hills in the distance - Drovers proceeding South von William Turner of Oxford zur Versteigerung kam.
