This artwork by William Turner of Oxford achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in May 2014. In the A Green and Pleasant Land: Two Centuries of British Landscape Painting auction, the work Autumn: Addison'S Walk, Magdalen College, Oxford sold for GBP 7,500.00 (€ 9,217.74) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 3,000.00. Admittedly, works by William Turner of Oxford have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work An April shower in November 2003 with an auction result of GBP 31,070.00 (€ 44,601.44).
