In December 2021 Bonhams in London held the auction Prints and Multiples, which included the work Calligraphic Head by William Turnbull. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,083.75 (€ 1,292.69), 35% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Turnbull achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Lotus Totem in June 2015 with an auction result of GBP 701,000.00 (€ 988,401.20).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 35 % übertroffen
Im Dezember 2021 führte Bonhams in London die Auktion Prints and Multiples durch, in der auch die Arbeit Calligraphic Head von William Turnbull zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 1.083,75 (€ 1.292,69) und damit 35% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Turnbull erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Lotus Totem im Juni 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 701.000,00 (€ 988.401,20).
