The work 12-1960 (Expanding Red) by William Turnbull was sold in the Modern British and Irish Art Evening Sale auction at Christies in London in October this year. It achieved a price of GBP 107,100.00 (€ 122,980.55), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 34%. Admittedly, works by William Turnbull have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Lotus Totem in June 2015 with an auction result of GBP 701,000.00 (€ 988,401.20).

Die Arbeit 12-1960 (Expanding Red) von William Turnbull wurde im Oktober diesen Jahres in der Auktion Modern British and Irish Art Evening Sale bei Christies in London versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 107.100,00 (€ 122.980,55) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 34%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von William Turnbull auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Lotus Totem im Juni 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 701.000,00 (€ 988.401,20).
