Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Study From A Celebrated Arab Mare by William Strutt was sold in the PAINTINGS FROM THE JOSEPH BROWN COLLECTION auction at Christies in Melbourne in May 2005. It changed hands for a price of AUD 6,572.50 (€ 4,040.15) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of AUD 4,000.00 – 7,000.00. Admittedly, works by William Strutt have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work British A Sound Investment in April 2008 with an auction result of AUD 48,000.00 (€ 29,041.11).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Study From A Celebrated Arab Mare von William Strutt wurde im Mai 2005 in der Auktion PAINTINGS FROM THE JOSEPH BROWN COLLECTION bei Christies in Melbourne versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von AUD 6.572,50 (€ 4.040,15) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von AUD 4.000,00 – 7.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von William Strutt auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit British A Sound Investment im April 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 48.000,00 (€ 29.041,11).
