Auction result misses estimated price range
In January 2008 a collector was able to acquire the work Wind Cabinet And Water Cabinet by William Stone for USD 625.00 (€ 421.13). This price was achieved in the auction Christie's Interiors at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by William Stone - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Stoney lane, Winter, which sold at auction in March 2007 for GBP 720.00 (€ 1,059.76).
