Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Circassia. Teherkess of the Soubash. by William Simpson was auctioned at Christies in London in September 2007. The price achieved of GBP 3,750.00 (€ 5,377.22) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Simpson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Jerusalem from the Mount of Olives in March last year with an auction result of GBP 94,500.00 (€ 112,040.39).
