Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In October 2017 Sothebys in New York held the auction Photographs, which included the work Chilean Sailor, Jumped Ship In San Francisco Bay by William Shew. Here, the upper estimate of USD 7,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 7,500.00 (€ 6,438.87). Admittedly, works by William Shew have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Chinese Gold Miners Posed With Nuggets, California in October 2017 with an auction result of USD 32,500.00 (€ 27,901.79).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Oktober 2017 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit Chilean Sailor, Jumped Ship In San Francisco Bay von William Shew zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 7.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 7.500,00 (€ 6.438,87) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von William Shew auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Chinese Gold Miners Posed With Nuggets, California im Oktober 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 32.500,00 (€ 27.901,79).
