Auction result misses estimated price range
In February 2012 a collector was able to acquire the work Workers resting by the fire by William Shayer Snr. for USD 1,250.00 (€ 935.70). This price was achieved in the auction Christie's Interiors at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Shayer Snr. achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The itinerant rabbit seller in November 2001 with an auction result of GBP 36,425.00 (€ 57,963.65).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Februar 2012 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Workers resting by the fire von William Shayer Snr. für USD 1.250,00 (€ 935,70) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Christie's Interiors bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Shayer Snr. erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The itinerant rabbit seller im November 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 36.425,00 (€ 57.963,65).
